Admission Procedures: Admissions criteria include family support of our school philosophy, financial support of the school, an established church relationship, and a Christian commitment based on the infallible Word of God. Application for admission can be made through the school office. Edgerton Christian Elementary School admits students of any race, color, or national ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate in the administration of its education policies, admission programs, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school administered programs.
Lunch Program: Edgerton Elementary School participates in the Minnesota School lunch program. We have 2 cooks on staff who prepare a hot, balanced meal everyday. The cost of the meal is $1.70 ($34.00/month). Some families who qualify may apply for free or reduced price lunches. The meal is the same as everyone else, but at a reduced price or free.
Transportation: Students in the Edgerton district receive free transportation to school. Busing may also be available from Luverne, Pipestone, Jasper, Holland and Woodstock. Because funding from outside the district varies by district, location, and the length of routes; each transportation request must be considered on an individual basis. We make every effort to transport as many students as possible.
Special Needs: The Title I Program is available for those who need extra help in reading or math. If testing determines that students qualify for speech therapy or special education, special assistance is given through Federal programs available through the local public school.
Chapels: An important part of the spiritual and educational program of Edgerton Christian School is the chapel assemblies program. Chapel services are held twice a month, and special assemblies are planned throughout the year.
Extra Curricular: Our students are involved in the following: Band, Basketball (boys and girls), Chapel, Cheerleading (girls), Choir, Cross Country (boys and girls), Recreational P.E., Soccer (boys) Track (boys and girls), Volleyball (girls), and Speech, Spelling and Writing Contest.
How is the school governed? Edgerton Elementary School is governed by a School Board. This board consists of constituents elected to 3 year terms of service. These constituents are nominated from various groups cooperating with the school. The entire society elects board members at the Annual Society Meeting.
