Mission Statement: The goal of the Worthington Christian School is to educate children in the light of God's Word, and to prepare them for a life of service to God, to His creation, and to their community.
School Hours: School hours are from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday
Accreditation: Worthington Christian Elementary School is accredited by Christian Schools International. CSI serves schools united by a common commitment to providing a Christian education, which is directed by the Word of God.
Demographics: We have 62 students in grades K – 8. These students represent 40 families. These families represent 13 different churches from 7 denominations. These students mostly come from rural towns within a 30 mile radius of Worthington. Worthington Christian school also has a Preschool on site.
Faculty: The teachers work with the students in grades K-8 using a demanding academic program that includes required study in math, science, social studies, health, English, music, Bible and physical education. Primary and Intermediate grades include instruction in Reading and Phonics while upper grades include Literature, Geography, Civics and State History.
Tuition Rates: $3700.00 per year
Tuition Assistance: Assistance is available upon request
Admission Procedures: Admissions criteria include family support of our school philosophy, financial support of the school, an established church relationship, and a Christian commitment based on the infallible Word of God. Application for admission can be made through the school office. Worthington Elementary School admits students of any race, color, or national ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate in the administration of its education policies, admission programs, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school administered programs.
Lunch Program: Worthington Elementary School participates in the Minnesota School lunch program. The cost of the meal plan $35.00 a month. Some families who qualify may apply for free or reduced price lunches. The meal is the same as everyone else, but at a reduced price or free.
Transportation: Bus transportation for students attending Worthington Christian School is provided by Independent School District 518. Public and Christian School students ride the same buses. Bus safety and conduct rules are followed and administered by Minnesota law and District 518 Board of Education Policy.
Chapels: An important part of the spiritual and educational program of Worthington Christian School is the chapel assemblies program. Chapel services are held every week, usually on Thursday mornings, and special assemblies are planned throughout the year.
Special Needs: There are special programs available for those who need extra help in speech, reading or math.
Extra Curricular: Our students are involved in the following: Band, Basketball (boys and girls), Chapel, Choir, Soccer (Boys), Track (boys and girls), and Volleyball (girls).
How is the school governed? Worthington Elementary School is governed by a School Board. This board consists of constituents elected to 3 year terms of service. These constituents are nominated from various groups cooperating with the school. The entire society elects board members at the Annual Society Meeting.
